Follow the true (well mostly true anyway) story of the dog Lulu as she learns the meaning of the Winter Solstice with an unlikely group of new friends and family.  Stranded together due to a typical Michigan blizzard, Lulu learns that people celebrating all different kinds of holidays can also come together to celebrate the longest night of the year; the Winter Solstice.  Heralding the daylight becoming longer after Winter Solstice Eve, her family tells of gardens and harvests past.  This leads to a harvest dinner and the sharing of old Welsh music.  (A CD of this music performed by harpist Michele Roger and Dulcimer player Marianne Lewis is included in the book.)  Setting aside the old tradition of a Yule log cake, Lulu and her family invite the new friends to stay until morning sharing in 1,000 of the best pancakes ever!
